Providing teachers with job-embedded and choice is a great way to start. I also think it is important to celebrate when teachers are implementing effective strategies and encourage peer-led professional learning workshops. #edsi6321

Creating school processes that build a culture of growth that includes teachers, students, and families working together to support students. Include families in school performance conversations and offer more opportunities to discuss their students academic goals and progress. #edsi6321

Giving teachers a voice in decision-making can make a huge difference. Celebrating teachers and their successes, big or small, can make a difference too! When teachers feel heard, seen, and supported, they are more likely to be engaged and committed to the profession. #edsi6321

Years of experience can create a false impression sometimes. Principals can experience so many things within one year on a campus and handle them very well. I do think 3 to 5 years can give a bigger picture of a principal's true performance and potential to mentor aspiring leaders. @edsi6321

I'm currently a mentor for an upcoming principal. I found it very helpful to ask her areas that she wanted to grow in. A model should incorporate a process for identifying and comprehending the individual needs of upcoming principals. #edsi6321
