Next week is the Fall Convocation -- always a great time of noting milestones and celebrating achievements!

This year, it will be Enobong Udoh from our team who will be walking the stage for her @smuscience.bsky.social MSc degree. 🥳🎓

It has been busy week at SMU, with midterm exams, assignments and many events and meetings! It was nice to get this little moment of respite and reflection.

Well-managed urban stormwater ponds can be places of refuge and beauty. Here, a pair of pelicans has been in this naturalized stormwater pond for several weeks.

A very fuzzy caterpillar with yellow central band. There are 2 black ends w long tufts of white hairs. It is perched on a nibbled green leaf. It is impossible to see which side is the head or the bum.

What a dehydrated tobacco leaf looks like! I was curious to see how this method worked out. Leaf is very brittle and there is a nice herbal smell.

I will look into proper air curing methods in early Fall when the weather is drier (it's too humid now).
