another +1 for I Will Teach You to be Rich by Ramit Sethi. He's also pretty progressive with his views on gender issues and supports liberal policies.

similar vibes of mostly wanting to talk only about ADHD and neurodiversity 😁

He also inspired me to start our business venture. I'm excited to follow your journey as I'm at the beginning of the business part. 😁

U.S. based - thanks for asking. I'll add something to the profile.

Their theory is that those with ADHD have strengths that would have benefits hunter/gatherer communities - ability to identify patterns, and then the impulsive aspect led to more berries picked - i.e. they'd quickly leave the picked over bush and that strategy led to more berries picked overall.

It was a computer game where the participants had to pick berries. The ADHD group picked more berries. What the anthropologists noted was that those with ADHD would pick berries off a bush until it started to be picked over, and they'd quickly jump to a fuller push.

I recently read an article about evolution and ADHD specifically. Anthropologists basically assume that if neurodivergence is hereditary, there had to have been some benefit/strength they brought to their community.

To test this idea, they set up two groups: those with ADHD and neurotypical.

I love Ramit Sethi's approach!

We're based in the U.S., so for tax purposes, yes. We are looking forward to expanding and offering more general financial and budgeting help. I am especially excited to talk about tips and tricks to help people with ADHD build wealth.

Saying Hi! We're a new service based in RVA!
January 19, 2025 at 8:05 PM
We are so excited to be offering this!
January 19, 2025 at 2:18 PM
And I forgot to add we will also include a virtual face-to-face or phone/email as well afterwards so we can answer any questions and provide a financial health "check up" as well for any other questions about your financial situation you might have. Whether that's savings, debt payoff, retirement.

Ultimately, I've had to reach out for professional services to fill in the gaps when I'm struggling and being able to find someone who is understanding can be hard, but absolutely invaluable.

We're also looking forward to offering budgeting and wealth growing tips as well.

We'll send reminders and visuals and videos to help assist as well, and we are absolutely committed to being patient and thorough.

Afterwards, we'll include a brief written overview, and include a few notes for tax planning for next year (i.e. credits to be aware of, lowering tax liability, etc.).
January 19, 2025 at 2:12 PM
For the actual process, our services include an hour virtual consultation (or phone or email if face-to-face sounds anxiety-inducing) where we will go over tax situation, take the time to understand your financial situation, and then help make sure you have all documents, forms, etc.

A few weeks ago, we were at an event and felt really "different" as it was mostly neurotypical people.

I realized how much shame I carry, how much masking I do, etc. and I really want a service where people can show up as they are and they can feel respected and understood.

Absolutely!

My partner is an accountant and has done taxes on the side seasonally. I have a background in social work, specifically working with adults and children who are neurodivergent.

We both were diagnosed with ADHD as adults and all four of our children are neurodivergent.

Grandma Core speaks to me 😅

This is fascinating because I know more than a few people with EDS, and they are all neurodivergent.
