Wales cannot afford to sit back and wait. Whilst it isn’t a silver bullet, I’m glad the Welsh Government is now introducing mandatory housing measures to bring Wales into line with our counterparts across the border. Acting too late would be catastrophic for animal welfare and for rural jobs.

The Government’s justification for early action on Bluetongue restrictions earlier this year was that Wales needed to ‘get ahead of the disease’. Adopting a different approach to bird flu didn’t give poultry keepers the clarity, consistency, and leadership they deserve.

The increasing number of avian flu cases in Wales show that merely retaining a prevention zone had become unsustainable.

Braf iawn ymweld ag @adferiad.org yn Llandudno gyda @mabonapgwynfor.bsky.social i glywed am eu cynlluniau cyffrous i drawsnewid hen ganolfan Blind Veterans yn gyfleuster newydd i ddarparu gwasanaethau adsefydlu ac adfer ar draws gogledd Cymru.
Great to visit the Salvation Army centre in Rhyl to see the tremendous work they do supporting people at the front line of society — helping those facing homelessness and overcoming substance addiction. Thank you for all that you do. 💚
