I should stress that I didn't get into the first one much, but this one feels more like an action game in that you have directional movement. I'm hesitant to say Soulslike because that comes with expectations and baggage, but it's also not _wrong_ per se!

It’s a lot of dodging but your character build makes a lot of difference. I struggled against a lot of bosses my first time through, but then changed character class and I’m steamrolling now!
