More environmental pixel assets being put together in a mock-up. This time I tried making assets for a spook house level. It really feels satisfying seeing all the assets come together to create some resembling a world. I went for more twisty designs for the ground and ladders.

I watched a 1BitStudio video on Youtube that inspired me to take a whack at environmental pixel art. I'm heavily inspired by old 2D MMORPG like La Tale, Maple Story, Wonder King, and Ghost Online. This is a mockup made with the repeating tile assets I made. #pixelart #ドット絵

A pixel portrait of indie Vtuber Nagi Quetzalli. This one ended up being a challenge for myself. The intricate hair ended up being very difficult to get right. I originally wanted it to fit in a 64 x 64 canvas, but the plumes and the upright pose made it too tall.

Another 64 x 64 canvas pixel portrait. I am quite happy with this one. It's Sakura Kinomoto from Card Captor Sakura. I really loved this anime as a kid. My favorite characters were Yue, Meiling and Mirror Card. Sakura Tange remains one of my favorite voice actresses.

I've been playing Pokemon Odyssey lately. It combines the mechanics of Etrian Odyssey with the gameplay of Pokemon. I've absolutely fallen in love with the Sovereign Gardevoir and Fafnir Knight Elekid. I just finished the 3rd Stratum. The game definitely gets an endorsement from me!

Tried more angular lines with this Shantae drawing to get that feeling of lightning. Remember the boots, sash, tiara and cuffs in the original Shantae game that allowed her to do those cool acrobatic martial arts moves? I really wish those would make a comeback someday. #art #shantae #wayforward

Ken Akamatsu is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to becoming an artist. I've lost count of how many times I've read Love Hina and watched it's anime. Hail to Akamatsu, who can seemingly accomplish every great thing he sets out to do.

Today, I decided to try my hand at some simple Pixel Art. Mostly of whatever cute critters my noggin cooks up. I think placing down pixels one by one never fails to relax me. It's meditative and gives you a lot of time to mull over sad thoughts and past events.
