For those who don't believe in the most high God, their government is god, and they do worship it.
They pray to it.
They associate all of their problems with whether or not their religion is placated by having their preferred priests.

As a Christian I do not want to see "my" leaders or party or government oppressing people for other faiths.

1, Nobody believes the official US Govt narrative at all,
