I still don’t really get what ‘romantic interest’ is, but I understand that it exists and just isn’t something I experience. I knew asexuality, one-night stands, fwb, and polyamory existed, so I knew that my initial understanding was off, but couldn’t figure out why until later

I knew and had said since I was young that I never wanted to date or marry. my understanding of dating was that it was a friend + sex + commitment + monogamy. when I learned that none of these were really required, sex can be separate, and then I read the word ‘aromantic’, is when I immediately knew
