You could do that with tax too, levy a tax on the corporation based on the ratio of CEO pay to lowest paid worker. The shareholders will stop voting for the CEO pay. The difference between saying "you can't do that" and "you can do it but it will cost you a lot more".

There needs to be a welfare tax on such employers such that it's cheaper for them to pay their staff a living wage - why should the taxpayer subsidise their profits?

Well, we've tried bleach, UV and ivermectin. Acetaminophen has been ruled out for other reasons so I'm interested to learn what the wonder cure is this time.

I still worry that such statements underestimate the number of voters who are evidence-blind and will happily vote for more of the same.

If we all get fired in the Fed shutdown or the upcoming recession there won't be much in the way of income tax revenue. We also won't be importing much if no one has money to buy it so the tariff income will be way down too.

The problem with that offer is the word "future". That implies the GOP can be trusted, and a separate vote could be defeated even if it was held.

That's pretty much what SCOTUS told him by declining to hear the appeal. They want no part of letting her out of jail.

It's like investing in proper maintenance for vital equipment. If it's neglected it won't work as efficiently and may stop working with no warning. People have analogous requirements to keep us happy and healthy and able to work well.

Every sick person he can kill increases the proportion of healthy people and saves money that would be spent on treatment. This from a guy who has his own personal mobile ER.
