also noticed opd hasn't released the clearance rate or for that matter any evidence to show flock has any meaningful impact on crime in Oakland

to be fair, in the world of govt contracting this is not all that unusual

And meaningfully overcoming the trauma of fascism would necessitate a social transformation unlike any we've yet witnessed in our lifetimes

Now that I'm older I appreciate how so much of my childhood development/trauma was a reflection of the lasting impacts of the Reagan era. And my adolescence, a reflection of the Clinton yrs, etc etc

and yah, like don't get me wrong, free healthcare wouldnt hurt, but also, we want, need more than that, and the state - progressive, fascist, whatever - and the communities it's historically represented will nvr cede the kind of autonomy some ppl need to meaningfully gain power over that trauma

I think a lot of progressives fail to appreciate this. they think that if they could just get their ppl in govt, tinker with the tax rates, institute free childcare and Medicare 4 all, etc, then all that generational trauma will magically be undone.

and when I reflect on my own experience with trauma, with the pain, struggle, and my eventual transformation beyond it, the concept of "undoing" just isn't relevant to any of it.
