Retired llama farmer - in my spare time I was also an accountant 😀. Enjoy the garden, the allotment, my dog(s), getting back to reading proper books, big lover of the countryside and enjoy being out in the fresh air. Based in mid-Devon.
Also on our canal walk we saw this mandarin duck

Went out for a Christmas Eve brunch today, the full English looked good but huge, so I asked if I could have the child option. It was also huge but I did manage to finish it! 😜

The wind has very nicely dried the grass on my lawn, so I cut it and collected the grass and fallen leaves ready to add to the compost bin at my allotment. Been a busy day!

Just dug up a huge parsnip, a small swede and 3 large leeks from the allotment. Planning ahead for Sunday roast due to the weather.

Just finished reading Richard Osman's second book. The Man Who Died Twice. Enjoyed it, now fingers crossed that when I take the book back to the library his first one will be available.

Without even a fanfare we have had a 20 mph speed limit installed in our village. So far, very few people appear to be taking any notice, at least whenever I go past the signs 😞

Some stunning views seen on our weekend away on the Jurassic Coast - here is a view of the sea and distant sunshine. We were at Branscombe, a small village on Devon's south coast.

3rd time lucky getting an appointment to see the doctor, 6th January mind! Actually quite pleased as I know there's a 4 week wait and I tried 4+ weeks before he wanted to see me, so allowing for Xmas holidays is pretty spot on!

Went to the Xmas market in Exeter today, quaint thing, mainly food & drink orientated, but a few gifty stalls. We came away with a few bottles of gin.

Just walked up to the doctors surgery to book an appointment and my doctor is fully booked this side of Xmas, have to pop back tomorrow afternoon when they release appointments for the New Year. Keeps the steps up, and the dog enjoyed the walk too.

Great service from in branch bank personnel, shame it was so far away. Shame so many branches are shutting. Big shout out to Steve at Barclays in Taunton - managed to sort me out when the telephone banking team couldn't.

Good evening, working my way slowly towards retirement and currently working just 25 hours a month - nice, just enough to keep my brain engaged. And that's the worry about taking the plunge to full retirement, how do you keep your brain active?
