I have a copy of Chris Nixon’s update of Elly Beinhorn’s biography of Rosemeyer and a copy of Nixon’s book ‘Racing the Silver Arrows’.

I made a pilgrimage to Shelsley Walsh in 2016 to watch Hans-Joachim take an Auto Union up the hill on the 80th anniversary of his father’s visit. It was awesome.

The first LP I really noticed was Dark Side of the Moon with its striking artwork and all the associated goodies inside. Not much in the way of liner notes though, aside from personnel and lyrics. (Oddly a track listing for Breathe (Reprise) seems to have disappeared from CD versions).

Most odd that the race winner and second place did not also get interviewed after the race.

Has F1 TV apologised for playing it into the coverage?

If the three drivers fighting for the title all finish on the Abu Dhabi podium in any order, Lando will be champion.

That’s exactly what F1 journo Joe Saward said in his blog this week. I also read Newey gave Horner a late night tour of the factory.

It’s often pretty random though with the safety car snakes and ladders game. Last season there was a long run of races without a Safety Car and Palou dominated.

Oscar lifted significantly for the Le Clerc yellow but Isaac, who was behind, didn’t and had to dive left in a big sideways moment to avoid Oscar who had to turn out to not collide.

Just saw the reply. Oscar lifted significantly for the Le Clerc yellow but Isaac, who was behind, didn’t and had to dive left in a big sideways moment to avoid Oscar who had to turn out to not collide.

So exciting to watch.

Realistically it had to be the money he was after. The championship was never going to be overturned.

The VSC maintains gaps but a full SC would be needed in many instances. Agree about pit stops. Shouldn’t happen under either SC. Even if gaps close under SC positions shouldn’t be allowed to change.

Take Indycar. For years the SC rules have led to lots of drivers lucking into wins. This season, they had a run of a number of races without a SC and the class of the field (Palou) dominated.

The bigger issue for me is the Safety Car. For years it has introduced a completely random element into racing. There should be some way of ensuring no one can benefit or lose due to the timing of its deployment.

In terms of depth of talent I find it hard to disagree.

Please do because I’m struggling to find any positives in the new regs.
