There are some fantastic non fiction books now. These are a few of my recent favourites although I know I don't read anywhere near enough Non fiction so hopefully this thread will inspire me.

My son and I made a haunted dolls house, then spent the day doing Samhain nature crafts and writing spooky stories and poems.

I love a spooky read and particularly anything with Witches and magic/ folklore from other countries. The Witch Boy is a excellent graphic novel. Alyssa and the Spell Garden are lovely books that link nature and magic. The Apprentice Witch series by James Nicol are fantastic, a definite favourite

I went to an amazing concert by The Bookshop Band at my local library. Fantastic songs, brilliant book talk and even a quick first lines quiz, brilliant night.

These, I would obsessively read them, then hilight anything about authors which I then typed up on our first computer to put on a ' Laura's book encyclopedia ' floppy disc, because I was cool like that 😆

Oooh I like this one, I always think of fantasy as cosy so my choices are definitely swayed by that 🤣 these are 4 I have read in the past couple of months that I think are warm and comforting. The whole series of Lola and Larch are especially gentle and cosy.

#KidsBooksFriday Ten Delicious Teachers is a fun picture book to relax new starters at primary. Alyssa is a brilliant story about friendships and changes that can happen over summer. The First Year is a perfect year 7 read. Swan Song is fantastic, dealing with mental health and life changes

#KidsBooksFriday what a lovely thread of recommendations. I would pick Swan Song by Gill Lewis, a fantastic dyslexia friendly book, particularly good for boys transitioning to Secondary school

Three of my favourites this month. Wildful is an absolutely stunning graphic novel that deals with grief and nature. Queen Macbeth was an interesting retelling and The Baby Dragon Cafe was just a cosy delight.
