With EU sponsorship, could a consortium of European industries come up with an extraction and development organization that would be profitable and productive for both Ukraine and the EU? Key to that would be security for the sites and infrastructure.

The best outcome for Zelenskyy would have been non-colonial access to Ukraine's extractable resources along with realistic security support. The next-best outcome is what happened: Europeans, Canadians, and the rest of the world now have no doubt as to U.S. reliability as a partner for anything.

IANAL, but...It would seem like the defense would get the "offending" article into the docket at this particular court, and also in any state or federal court where it might be appealed.

If that's correct, it would get tons more exposure than if they had just kept their mouths shut and stewed.

It would help if at least a few of those publications would offer "student" or "academic" discounts to personal subscriptions by employees of agencies subject to such orders. When I worked at a university, A subscription was much lower for me.
