Some takeways: progress is slow, particularly on the wage gap, which is stuck at an average 11.4%. But on most fronts countries are very gradually moving in the right direction. And after last year's vote-a-rama, the average share of women in parliaments rose to a record 34%. Glimmers of good news!

USAID's website is (of course) down; but it disburses the vast bulk of foreign assistance- $44bn out of $72bn in FY 2023.

A lot's been written about the rightwards shift of young men in the US. But perhaps more surprisingly, a higher % of women under 30 went for the Republicans than in any of the past four cycles (data from the Centre for American Women and Politics)
