Soldered up the copper and brass ring and cleaned it up to 600 grit. Still some finished to go but going alright so far for a first try

Tried to make a 3 band ring yesterday and screwed the soldering right up caus I couldn't get the middle layer hot enough. Tried with 2 bands today (a copper layer on a brass layer) and things are going a lot better

I've got a fan on in the garage and keep forgetting, so every time I put down a bit of sandpaper it disappears

Cleaned up the first copper ring making attempt and gave it a hammered finish. Definitely going to be making more of these

OK! First ever attempt at silver soldering went alright! It's definitely not perfect and there's a gap, but it's strong enough that I could round it and hit it up 2 or 3 ring sizes

But I bought a Random Orbit Sander, went to town for 2 hours, and then re-covered with a better resin in a more shaded spot. It went much better that time

My biggest battle in this was the damn resin. The first layer of resin was pearlescent black with purple glitter in it which went down super fine. The clear layer over the top was a mega-dick. It cured almost instantly leaving it completely uneven. You can see a little bad patch under the Q

After all being cut out and shaped, I glued the pieces onto the chopping board and then painted the background with black oil paint. It looked quite good with just the paint so I did debate leaving it like that... but I wanted some sparkles

All the pieces were hand filed (which is usually my favourite bit of making things). I can say I gave Judgement a manicure

It's made from a fairly small wooden chopping board, brass, and resin. It was a lot of hand cutting, filing, and sanding of the individual brass pieces to make up the dino and the text
