If you're curious here's a bit about me:
⛪️ I love God and his word and want to help others know it better
📚 I'm out of the habit of reading but trying to cultivate it again
📜 I love history, particularly how Christian beliefs shaped actions
👩‍🏫 I teach maths because I love patterns

And we're all just paid actors as well. I'm almost due for my latest paycheck.
(And they didn't even mention tree kangaroos . . .)

So that's a wrap on day one of the Evangelical Women in Academia conference.
Some thoughts:
1. Women actually ask questions (they don't just give opinions).
2. The pool of Australian theology PhD-trained women is relatively small and recent.

Thankful for new ingredient lists so that I can once again enjoy life's blessings.

Exchange of the day:
Student: "Miss were you always going to be a maths teacher?"
Me: "Yep. Why do you ask? Is it all the colour I wear?" (Look down and realise I'm in all black.)
Student: "Nah you just look like an English teacher."

As someone who cares about the dust in their house, apparently I have to now be someone who cares about my lawns. It has taken me 6 hours of owning a hose and 15 minutes of using it to understand why kink-resistant hoses are a selling point.

For when I eventually teach stats again. (But with plain chips because they taste better.)

One day I won't write a paper at the last minute but today was not that day.
Has been an interesting conference so far, about the church and the military.

I really wanted to write this, but too many people who know me IRL would read this if I submitted it elsewhere and I'm not really ready for those conversations. So enjoy if it's your thing :)

I've played Hues and Cues a few times this year and it's always a ton of fun (mostly because I've won (like here) or come close to it).

Throw back to my last class an end of year #revisionactivity, Unfair Maths (I stole it off a colleague who stole it off their supervising teacher).

Before the day:
1. Buy your class 5 gifts worth <$2
2. Wrap them
3. Come up with a series of questions (can use textbooks or old exams)

Carols and Car Troubles
There are many things which mean Christmas, but for me it’s the opportunity to spend time with family and also the chance to sing carols.

Someone on the stairwell to leave the ferry said "we're all like sheep". And I'm impressed that I managed to stop myself saying "ba-ba-doo-ba-ba". #iykyk

A few years ago, a pastor said it's sad when people eat alone in restaurants. His point was that over food we often encourage one another.
As a single woman, I do need to eat more than a carrot (which was the alternative tonight) and I found some excellent company.

Ah well this holiday has been mildly eventful.
On Monday calling 000 and then roadside assistance today.
Thankful for fine weather, a picnic blanket, and a good book.

Have been on holidays and was sad that I hadn't seen any sunsets. The last two have been beautiful though.

As a maths teacher who has taught networks and has done a lot of wandering today, someone needs to remind @TasmaniaParks that a circuit starts and ends at the same point. They've all been beautiful walks though. #mathsjokes #mathjokes

Apparently I'm doomed to always have something AWOL. Finally found my card and now I've lost a library book.🤦‍♀️
Open to suggestions of where to look.

This is my go to sentence stem when a graph is involved. I have these posters I made in my room that students constantly reference.
