Labour MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, general interest nerd.
I'm not enjoying that it's a sad train sandwich night (who tf puts mild cheese on a ploughman's buttie?!?) but at least I'll be home tonight!

The pension cap is contributions over £2k and the ISA limit is still £12k per year so not likely to affect the majority of younger workers (or older workers tbh). Imo the overall package is as fair as possible whilst meeting need. The impact distribution is worth looking at too. Thanks for reading.

This graph shows the impact of the budget on different income deciles.

The headlines from today's budget. I'm particularly pleased about targeted gambling taxes contributing to ending the two-child limit benefit limit and the end of the rape clause.

The Tories and Reform can do one.

No *you're* crying.

Given the nature of Reform attacks on Labour MPs (nasty, not factual, and pointedly trying to whip up personal animosity) forgive me if I struggle to empathise with Nigel, who doesn't like it when we criticise his actions and actual policies.

In today's edition of glass-half-full, being stuck at home means I get to make extra-garlicky mojo verde and eat it whilst looking out over Morecambe Bay.

cw baby loss

Just left the House after a late running debate on baby loss. Just want to let other people who have suffered a loss know that they have champions in Parliament.
