Absolutely. Texas is a great example of that. Wonderful mash-up of German, Mexican, Polish, Cajun (gotta love yourself some accordion polka, two-steppin', ranchera).

Yeah, save those eggs. Throw the sea food trash at them (I made the mistake of lifting the burlap on a barrel in front of a restaurant there...the smell of old oyster, shrimp, and crawdad refuse about knocked me out...don't ask me why I felt I had to check the trash LOL).

Yes. My brother put a permanent dent in my new table years ago. It ticked me off then. I love it now because it reminds me of him (he died in 2013). It's funny that all of the dings and scratches and imperfections can be the best part of things.

I love ham salad sandwiches. I don't know if I would use this recipe, though. I have an old meat grinder (the type that clamps to a table or counter). I can remember my mother grinding up leftover meat (ham or beef) to make sandwich spreads.
