Accessibility in healthcare isn’t just about ramps. Clinically Vulnerable people know it’s about safety for all patients, especially those at higher risk from airborne viruses.

We shouldn't fight for basic protections like masking and ventilation. Safe care is accessible care.
Just to keep you in the loop - after my update re my complaining about Addenbrooke's telling me to take my mask off for swabs in pre-op assessment and my refusal which resulted in rude and insulting behaviour from a sister, I posted this on X and was asked to get in touch with their PALS which I did. I received a phone call from head of day surgery and pre-op who was apologetic about the way I'd been treated and wanted to turn this into a learning experience with my help. I explained why my refusal to take off my mask in a small unventilated room wasn't 'illogical' or why my saying it was safer for me to do swabs in wide open space wasn't 'silly'. I told her many CV were avoiding healthcare precisely because of the way we are treated and the lack of mitigations for us. She asked what reasonable mitigations would look like and I said doing swabs next to an open window and ‘see a mask wear a mask' and she liked both. She assured me these would be put into practice and stated she would be stressing to her staff that some patients wish to mask to avoid airborne viruses and that this should be respected. So do call out gaslighting and perhaps something positive can come from it - don't just accept it.
