The important part of the letter seems to have been missed - which is that the protestors in the 80s would have been shot by Americans if they went further than the fence!

Breaking in and damaging planes is not the same as damaging a fence, to state the extremely obvious. Fuck with the armed services' stuff, you're in a bit more trouble than a peaceful Greenham protest that might hurt a perimeter.

It's in Popbitch and I trust them, their newsletter goes through legalling every week!

Only yesterday an English Jew I know (secular, hates Bibi but posts about antisemitism all day and sees it everywhere) said 'NYC elected an antisemite'. Mamadani should be more nuanced than he is being.

I love Up and nobody else seems to! I rinsed that record when it came out. I saw them live twice, only. Hyde Park and, would you believe, in the middle of Ohio in a place called Cuyahoga Falls. They played Cuyahoga, obv, one of the great life moments!

I spent a day this week rinsing the entire catalogue. Monster is a lot better than ppl said at the time (it got slated). But their best, no. Not that I'm a ranking type. They are one of the best bands of all time though, that's for sure.

Finally, something happened! That something is Ariana DeBose, a proper star. That America sequence was brilliant. I'm half way into the film, took so long to do something impressive...

I don't know what it is doing or who it is for. It didn't connect with any audiences, seemingly, either because it was an enormous bomb. Every single element - Spielberg, Sondheim, Bernstein - is there. It does not help that Elgort/Zegler have no personality as actors. Good voices, though.

Well, it does really. That's why Die Hard and Gremlins are Xmas movies, they are set at Xmas! People saying the Wizard of Oz etc are Xmas movies, nope. Just bc you watch them then doesn't make it so. It has to have Xmas as a plot pt.

I mute, it's more satisfying to let them scream into the void. But more so, I don't want Bluesky to be that. I have enough of it on Twitter. So I don't spend that much time here, bc: human nature! I'd rather just scroll past.

It's called something else - interest-based marketing. I just found it switched on. I switched both off.
