Another key piece of legislation to address the issue @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social and @teamlabouruk.bsky.social promised to tackle. Actions matter. Cultural change takes longer but starts with actions such as this. 👏👏👏

Really interesting read and tools I will be exploring over next few days. Understanding regional spend can provide additional insights.

@warrenoates1.bsky.social
NEW: IFS public spending tool highlights large regional differences in spending.

In 2023-24, ‘identifiable’ government spending (spending which benefits specific areas) amounted to less than a quarter of economic activity in London – but almost half in North East England: 🧵

Having recently lost my great friend to cancer I recognise the motivation behind @bethrigby.bsky.social in fundraising and need to take action in the name of one she lost who meant so much.
If you can support, please do, for those lost and those still with us.

With the announcement of the abolition of NHS England and 50% cuts to ICBs, a great deal will change in commissioning of services. How these changes support the better use of 3rd sector organisations is one of the unknowns. The sector needs to speak up & shape decision making at the highest levels.

Action on the report of Baroness Gabby Burton @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social ? Is this something you will be able to progress? Although commissioned by prior government, findings have value and there is a need to consider in respect to violence against women.

Thirteen minutes that are well worth a listen. Stormy times when allies turn. Measured speech and actions as a response.
Here's the speech if you haven't heard it. 13 minutes of your time. Share it with your American friends and neighbours, because they won't see it otherwise. Circulate it in Mexico and Denmark, France and the UK, Panama and Germany, Poland and Estonia, and especially -- especially -- Ukraine.
