Was out walking using my Seek app to identify species. It’s easy to recognize Madrone in the wild by its peeling bark but in this yard, it’s ornamental. Pink flower bell clusters and orange beaded berries are a marvel.

Trimmed and twirled mom’s “jasmine jungle” back from her carport roof - until I saw a bird nest in the thickest part. I know not all birds return to their nests but couldn’t bring myself to remove.
Vased the flowers - so pretty how the purple comes through! Smells even prettier!

I was finally brave enough to call the shelter where I’d brought the stray i was feeding for months who got real sick.
They told me Toby passed away, that they’d kept him comfy as possible.
He left a feather on my mat 🪶
The guilt of not bringing him in sooner..

And what are eggs without a side of hash, cuties, and maybe some avo. Next time, I might add smoked paprika.
TIP: eggs should sizzle when they hit the pan, then lower heat and use lid to steam the top!

Attended a #decorswap recently. We’ve heard of clothing swaps but this was news. Great way to reduce landfill, reuse decor, free!

So, I’ve been feeding a stray. It got so sick recently that I had to take it to a shelter. I cried but it was the right thing to do.
“Toby the tabby” became “Straycey” and all I got back was an empty cat carrier. They may euthanize! They’ll call me if not.

So, I’ve been feeding a stray. It got so sick recently that I had to take it to a shelter. I cried but it was the right thing to do.

I dabble in lots of arts. Thanks to YouTube teachers, these early attempts at acrylic #painting turned out kind of promising, but so much to learn. Had fun with the #paletteknife on the lighthouse!

Update on “Toby the tabby” - the no-collar stray I’ve been feeding. Food and love isn’t enough. Still skinny. Still has more of a squeak than a meow.
Time to bring Tobes to the local animal shelter for microchip scan, checkup, neuter.

Finally unwrapped my flower press, went for a long walk, did a fresh press, then found out I should wait 3 weeks before opening lol.
Meanwhile, I colored the press! Blended with simple Crayola markers, sealed with clear spray.
Research begins. Candles? Grimoire? Much can be done..
