But I have so many practical questions that no one has answered (the wind is blowing the smoke away from me, do I still need to worry about new ash? My house smells like smoke but outside doesn’t, should I open a window?)

For those who don’t know, Altadena isn’t some mountain enclave. It’s a huge swath of lovely, kinda hippy suburbia. It’s seen fires at its edge, but this is in the heart of it, far from the trails and chapparal
