This got a bit of traction last week. Let's go again.

Who are you teaching this week? Bonus points if you can tag them here. And use #TeachingTuesday

Great way to celebrate International Women's Day.

Spent the day at TNA, trying to sort out some of the finer points of administering convent households--interaction w/outsiders, between officers, etc.

Recently returned from the Archivo Histórico Nacional in Madrid. I have been working there on and off since 1992 (gasp!). Its vast collection of #earlymodern #nuntastic materials has been the backbone of my scholarly career and I keep finding new things! Very grateful for this amazing repository.

Today in the archives: unexpected little nugget about the social dynamics behind #earlymodern convents admitting lay women as boarders.

So true about running meetings! I have an article and a workshop focused on running better meetings. My dog and I feel strongly about this 🙂

My article won a prize! Genuinely surprised and honored.

So excited: my piece about some of the possible stories behind this #earlymodern tabla from a Valladolid convent will be in the September edition of AHA's Perpsectives.

Thank you, @lmansley.bsky.social , for the invitation and opportunity!

Just gonna put this out in the universe: I would love to write a review of this from the perspective of someone who studies the history of nuns.

I've been thinking about this #earlymodern "tabla" since I first saw it in 2017. Grateful for the chance to get back and take more photos. A memory/accountability device to help a convent keep track of the various masses they needed to observe for patrons and others.

With apologies to Mary Oliver: what will you do with your "wild and precious" leap year day? 🙂

Thursday morning: gearing up for a busy day of teaching. First class: public health in late medieval Europe. Second class: continuing to work w/capstone students on building their historiographical muscles.
