I am very fortunate to love my job. And on a day when the Botanics is my workplace, I love it even more!

Such a brilliant afternoon celebrating Edinburgh Pride. An amazing atmosphere and so much fun.

Happy Pride if you celebrate. You are seen. You are loved. You belong.

I went to the dentist today for the first time in *cough* years only for him to find nothing wrong and then say "respect for looking after your teeth". Still no fillings!

I'm heading down to Manchester at the end of the month for an event on the Sunday evening and am looking for things to do while I'm there. I have Saturday evening and most of Sunday to myself so any recommendations would be appreciated! Staying not far from Manchester Piccadilly.

Attended my first paper cutting workshop this evening. Not bad for someone who doesn't rate their artistic skills very highly!

I love Orchids, but I've never been able to keep them (or any other plant!) alive. Now I have one that I don't have to remember to water. A really fun build.

Looking for book recommendations, particularly comedy. I love the Richard Osman books, so anything similar would be great.

It's two years today since my mum died, and just over two months since my dad died. I had difficult relationships with them both, but it still stings, especially this time of year. I miss them. Sending love to anyone else who finds this time of year bittersweet, whatever the reason.

I'm not generally a Coldplay fan, but this is a delight. Dick Van Dyke is a legend.

I love this time of year. So many lights in the darkness.

Glad to be home after an exhausting few days. We arrived on Thursday to snow in Exeter and then a beautifully sunny day on Friday. We ended up with an extra day due to a cancelled flight on Sunday and landed in high winds yesterday. A day to rest today before going back to work tomorrow.

It's been a hard day. But we've laughed as much as we've cried.

Fly high, Dad.

Not the best photo, but I really enjoyed watching the moon appear from behind the wee island this evening.
