Honestly, after the first one the kids flock to them. Great mix of NF info and comics. I love that the 4th and 5th grade students check them out consistently from my library.

It's hard to beat a good stack of books! I love "King of the Birds," and I've put "Peter Nimble" on hold at the library (not sure how I missed that one). Sadly, I just couldn't get into the Emily Wilde series. I didn't really like her character in the beginning of the first book...

I love these sketches! I'm with you - not everything in the year has to be full-blown, finished art. Just drawing is an accomplishment in itself.

I just finished The Mona Lisa Vanishes by Nicholas Day- and it was AWESOME! Like Erik Larson, but less gruesome and perfect for 6th grade and up. My teen boy is reading it now. #kidlit

As a librarian, I'm excited about The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerrfeld because my young preschoolers' reactions have been so heartfelt.
As an illustrator, I'm loving that I finished up my PB dummy, Where's Mama Whale. Watercolor illustration below.
