Thank you, Liz! I’m so grateful for this incredible organization that has supported my research and connected me with an amazing network of successful researchers like you. I hope to give back and support its mission.

Congratulations to @lauraburke20.bsky.social!

EMF was one of the first to fund my research & I’m looking forward to seeing them support many more young investigators in emergency medicine!

Can telehealth help unravel the knotty problem of fall prevention in older adults?
Prevening falls is critical to reducing injuries among older adults, and telehealth tools may help providers reach more people in rural areas.

Was at #AAIC25 this week talking to patient advocacy organizations for #AlzheimersDisease.

Many don’t know about the deep crisis we are facing in #NIH funding. We need to continue to talk about this & importantly enlist our patients/future patients.

Thx @jeremymberg.bsky.social for this graph.

I received this vaccine in my third trimester. My baby is now a healthy three year old. And I didn't get severe COVID while pregnant. Win win.

Let's stop taking away options from women to receive evidence-based treatments to keep them healthy in pregnancy.

There are ways to reduce #dementia risk:
🦻get hearing checked
🚶‍♂️exercise
👭stay social

But beware of #pseudoscience. A family member was sold “light therapy for the brain.”

If it cured dementia, it’d be the first.

Physicians aren’t hiding cures—we’re trying to protect from harm.

New Paper Alert!

I'm thrilled that we now have pharmacists embedded in emergency care in many EDs.

Here, evidence that a #pharmacist led intervention reduced costs and recurrence of medication-related ED visits compared to usual ED care.

Can we increase step counts after the ED visit in older sedentary Americans with a text message based intervention & pedometer?

Yes! 🙌 And no fall events or other safety events identified.

Congrats Dr. Brian Suffoletto

💵 The total economic burden of Alzheimer’s #dementia will reach $781 billion in the US this year.

🧪We only know this because of research funded by #NIH.

Our best chance in curbing these costs is funding meaningful interventions & continued investment in science.
