The wonderful "A Memory Called Empire" by @byzantienne.bsky.social does this phenomenally, especially when it comes to the power of memory and history (especially who controls it) as a tool for liberation and identity as well as oppression and repression

The wonderful "A Memory Called Empire" by @byzantienne.bsky.social does this phenomenally, especially when it comes to the power of memory and history (especially who controls it) as a tool for liberation and identity as well as oppression and repression

Memory tends not to be the focus of my short stories, but a lingering ghost in the background, however, I have some stories in the works that deal much more directly with it, especially with bittersweet nostalgia and the contradictory nature of good memories of bad times
