Galway!
The view from Leonardo hotel in Galway Ireland. Overlooking the river Corrib that flows (fast!) to the sea. Blue hand knit Irish sweater lays across the bed with white sheets complimenting the white sheers diffusing the light from the window Druid Lane. Galway. Salvaged birch bark from Lake Superior Wi. I painted winter scenes and either framed or set on mini easels for Christmas gifts this year.
Four birch pieces sit atop four mini easels, each is painted with little winter scenes of snow, trees, a red house. Each painting uses the natural texture of the bark to create or support the scene. Favorite dishes in Ireland. Americano coffee. Fish and chips with Guiness batter - so fresh! Brown soda bread with salmon& crab salad! Beef and lamb stew with mashed potatoes (Inis Mor Island) notably one of the best meals I have ever eaten. It was the centerpiece of a misty, sea salty dreamy day.
Creamy white coffee cup with brown speckles sits on its matching saucer, spoon resting to the left of the cup, handle pointing towards the right. A small silver mini milk jug sits slightly behind and to the right. The table is a pleasing grey wood grain that creates visual harmony between the different elements in the photo. Fish, Freshly caught, dipped in Guiness batter and deep fried, too big for the dinner plate it sits on. To the side are canned peas and sweet potato fries, neither of which could hold a candle to that glorious fish! Open faced sandwich with smoked salmon, crab salad, lettuce, pickled onions and cucumbers…on brown soda bread. Other restaurant patrons are blurred in the background, having conversations, eating and relaxing The right half of a Lamb and beef stew in a simple white bowl with a wide rim that has one row of raised beading. Mashed potatoes sit atop the stew in the middle of the dish. It tasted as delicious as it looks.
