This is what I've been wondering about the Intel deal. How does it benefit the US budget?
But actual “cash” taxes pay for govt expenses. Whats the plan with the shares? Intel doesn’t pay dividends so the only way to realize and use their value is to sell them. Who times that? Do we dump them and crater their value? Holding them means no revenue just the power to direct, reward and punish

I owe an apology to @sarahkendzior.bsky.social. When I read her books and essays, I thought she was too extreme and paranoid in her assertions that 45/47 and oligarchs would strip the USA for parts. She was not too extreme and paranoid.

The point of unsubscribing is not to hurt Bezos financially. It is to avoid supporting the platform that he has irrevocably changed.

I held on to my WaPo subscription all this time out of sentiment (my father worked there for 22 years). But that’s it, I’m out.

My fondest hope is that in 10 years I’ll be able to read his book based on this, with final chapters describing how we recovered from it. I need that dream right now.
