Two of a group of albumen prints I've acquired with Bunyan/Elstow associations. Internal dating indicates 1874 to 1881. No photographer, but the likelihood is that these are the work of George Downes d. 1879. (1)

This is from 1927, and absolutely bears out your 1920 correspondent. (The kind of nocturnal motor tours of Paris advertised here - in 1927 after all - sound wonderful)

Friday book post - the papers and catalogue accompanying the Robert Adamson exhibition at Museum Ludwig / Agfa-Photo-Historama in Cologne, 2000. Wonderful Steidl reproductions, some images new to me. The papers are essential for the understanding of early Adamson scholarship in Germany c.1900-1965.

New acquisition: 1928 Bunyan Tercentenary "Guide for Pilgrims" to Bedford and Elstow including this view of my ancestral home of Bunyan's Cottage and advertising for Bunyan-related photographic products and souvenirs.
