Sitting at a bookshop cafe, and there’s an older couple sitting a few tables away from me. He’s reading, she’s doing the crossword. Every now and then, they look up, smile at each other, continue on their quiet activity.
I aspire to have that kind of comfortable love someday.

There are only 3 plants in MO that can do this. Moisture in the plant freezes/expands during the first hard frost, pushing out from cracks in the stem. Roots underground have not frozen yet so they continue to push sap and moisture up and out, creating stunning shapes and patterns.
