I mean if the "president" is going to act like CA isn't a state, and the speaker is going to follow his lead - I think CA could follow their lead and withhold their taxes. Government is a contract - where people give power in exchange for services. If those services aren't given, well then...

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed after the last 24 hours of horrible news. I have so much empathy for the pain this lawyer is experiencing, and I also can't stop giggling. This makes me as happy as the "cat" lawyer did so many years ago.
