The Participatory Geospatial Lab at @aruvu_collab has been involved in mapping across regions in Karnataka. In Kundapura we have been mapping forests, local Gov institutions. We hv been developing a manifesto to look at maps as things that enable people to observe locally (2/4)

In Bidar the lab has been involved in mapping the Naubad #Karez along with @team-yuvaa.bsky.social , @llnaf.bsky.social and others. We have also begin mapping StepWells across the Bidar district. Here we been using paper maps as an observational tool. (3/4)

CLKN is where our journey of building community-based tech began in Bidar. It got us to think what it means to do community-led archiving and the ecosystem that it requires keeping the concerns around data privacy and ownership.

Co-creating local knowledge networks (CLKN) was a catalytic intervention project undertaken as a collaboration between Living Labs Network, @team-yuvaa.bsky.social and @Janastu/Servelots

The assumptions for the exchange of diverse #knowledgepractices embedded in a place have to be rediscovered and reinvented. It is an important step in #decolonising research practices around #ClimateChange. As this effort moves forward, the ideas of “development” will be reimagined with communities.

CRC platform will seek to enable the undertaking of co-owned action in multiple micro-contexts and geographies. This is also important as we need to envision new ways of #exchangingknowledge situated in #culturalhistories and #livedexperiences.

To do this our approach is to #infrastructuring a platform where #everydayknowledge and intimate politics can be shared, actioned and interpreted. To wilfully move beyond the current imaginations of such programmes that typically focus on monitoring, maintenance and action toward ecosystems.

CRC will centre local understandings, experiences, and priorities to shape how the effects of climate change in the #Dakkhaniregion and South Canara are understood and responded to - it will seek to inform #climateadaptation, outreach and action at the @hyperlocal scale.
