i've decided on the more handrawn/illustration style - mostly because it's closer to my own art style (which seems obvious now lol)

Today's focus is art direction and planning ahead!
I want to do some irl baking for new year's so I'm keeping things light(er). I'm torn between pixel art and a more hand-drawn vibe... so I'm going to try both! I'm going to try out making little cakes in both styles and see what makes more sense.

I've figured out how to change the color of the character sprite to make customers (I didn't want to find another sprite and it was a learning opportunity!) and have customers spawning in!!
Next, I need customers to walk towards the displays and buy the pies!

I wanted to try getting as far as I had previously in Gamemaker with making a simple bakery game in Godot - and I actually got a little further!
Oven bakes pie, player can pick up pie, and player can set pie on a display for customers to pick up!

Today I added the ability to pick up a frosted cake, added a functioning compost bin, cleaned up some code…
and found a new issue where the right-most oven is triggered when using the frosting station 🤪
Once that’s fixed - time to add customers!!! 🎉🍰
