…whoever gave that gift should feel ashamed, be called out/banned from future white elephant exchanges. It was so uncalled for. And like, reminder, I wasn’t even given all the information about who would be joining the lunch! And it was obvious so many people went above the spending limit. (6/6)

But like…whatever. Dude didn’t get a gift he liked. It happens. He can regift it, give it to his wife, etc. Never admitted the gift was mine because I didn’t know who the guy even was.

Long story short, some dude in sales ended up picking my gift. The last gift chosen too. You could tell he was disappointed. I don’t blame him….because I was literally not shopping for the 50 other people in that room. I was shopping for the women in my department. (4/6)

The day of the holiday lunch arrives. I gather my gift and head out with the rest of my department to the meeting room where it was happening. When I got there, there was a TON of people I didn’t recognize. Turns out, the lunch was NOT just my department like I was led to believe. (3/6)

…so I went and got some cute things at Kroger in the holiday section. Little Xmas wine glass charms…trinkets and tchotchkes like that. I think the limit was $20-$25, so there wasn’t a TON I could get. Also important to the story. (2/6)
