Have you ever seen rocks floating in #frozen water? I hadn’t until yesterday!

I’ve been told two theories for this. One is heavy rains on top of a frozen bottom layer. Another is turbulent waters in the shallows. Both could have been at play here.

I #skied from my house to Russian Jack last night. Conditions are acceptable but definitely not good. Trail is actually pretty fast but a bit patchy. Here’s to hoping we get more #snow soon even though it’s not in the forecast ❄️ #anchorage
