239 Westminster Road, Kirkdale, Liverpool. Carries the initials JAH, and a date of 1883 . Doctor James Alexander Hendry was a local doctor, and visiting surgeon to executions at Kirkdale Gaol. He passed away here in 1903. The house continued to be a doctors surgery for many years

At 6:00p.m. on 27th March 1915 a passenger ship of Liverpool’s Elder Dempster Line left port bound for West Africa. Many of the crew were from Liverpool.
