8/ USAID provides essential humanitarian aid to prevent and treat starvation and disease and promote education, health, and safety. USAID’s humanitarian aid is mutually beneficial as it creates stability, security, and prosperity at home and abroad.

7/ In 2023, USAID’s budget was about $40 billion (less than 1% of the total federal budget) and aided about 130 countries. The tangible and immeasurable benefits of USAID in terms of our safety, security, soft power, and prosperity far outweigh the negligible cost of USAID
