Anything to do with easyJet flight from Athens last night having to circle for 40 mins after an aborted landing?

There are many trees in Edinburgh, not necessarily ones on the street (which grow roots and push up pavements to make trip hazards). And that particular part of Edinburgh has been densely populated for hundreds of years: now's not the time to start ripping down tenements and historic buildings.

We were watching a flight last night around 11.30pm. It flew low over the city so I looked it up - aborted landing and then went to do circles over Peebles for half an hour before it landed ok. There was a wee kink in its flighpath over Livingston made me wonder about some fault.

Time to set up Google/apple pay on your phone...

You don't move a massive train like that while it's overrun with investigators...

Maybe someone chucked a knife away and they're looking for it?

It's the legacy of leaded petrol. 😡

Although I'm sure I read somewhere that the patients had all been taken to Addenbrookes in Cambridge, about half an hour away.

I had 45 WhatsApp messages from a friend when we were trying to set up a single coffee date.
(My total message count was about 5). "It does my head in.". 🙈

Yes, people who say that 20mph isn't safe because you have to watch the speedo all the time... "They just know" what 30 feels like. Ok... Learn what 20 feels like then! (For me, it's the top end of 2nd gear or the very bottom of 3rd).

And TLDR: South Bridge has storm drains but we are not sure where the water goes 🙈

Some of the consultation docs are scary. TLDR: everyone should be terrified of Dean Bridge 😂

The session in Granton was very informative. It was great to see the plans up close and be able to talk to engineers about the details like widening the bridge over Roseburn Terrace and tram turning circles.

Planning new routes and fixing old routes are two different teams, two different budgets.

Is it just me that shouted out "SPOUT! HANDLE! LID OF METAL!"? 😂

Would something like this work (to avoid Crewe Toll)?

I really like the tactile guides to road layouts on crossings in Copenhagen and Oslo.

It's fixed it now.

Mandatory black boxes and speed limiters too

My son was behind me on a tagalong and we were whooshing along at a good pace and I heard a delighted "Wheeeeeeeeee!" from behind me. You don't get that in a car.

Having visited European cities* where there's a cats cradle of tram tracks going in all directions it seems very stodgy to have such restrictions here. (*E.g. Bern)

I was thinking that a route past the Modern Art galleries would be cool.
The Dean Bridge route apparently ends up at too tight a junction at the West End so trams wouldn't be able to turn right to Haymarket so you'd need to swap trams to get Granton-Airport 🙄

I asked my neighbour whose husband is in the Police and she says he can't tell us what's happening until he's allowed to.

Oh, and it was all looking for a gun. Woo.
