Last week, we dug into the failures of stroke experiments on animals. This flood of "promising" papers keeps money flowing into flawed research.

Bad data isn’t unique to animal experiments, but the cost, for both animals and outcomes, is far higher.

A stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is blocked either by a clot (ischemic stroke) or a burst blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke), cutting off oxygen & killing brain cells.

#Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S. & a leading cause of long-term disability.

40 Percent of Stroke Animal Studies May Have Problematic Images
Red flags during a literature review led to the discovery of over 200 papers on animal models of stroke with duplicated images, which is likely an underestimate.

E-cigarettes drive irreversible lung damage via free radicals
E-cigarettes are often thought to be safer because they lack many of the carcinogens found in tobacco cigarettes. However, scientists recently found that exposure to e-cigarette vapor can cause severe, irreversible lung damage.
