the honeysuckle produced a few berries this year but the birds beat me to em so I’ll have to count on them to start some seedlings for me

this tree’s been dying as long as I’ve lived here so I’ve been encouraging flowering vines to grow up it; the maypops and honeyvine are going crazy now and the coral honeysuckle on the other side covered a lot of territory this year

adult was def a variegated fritillary I think but the cat looked more like a gulf? they both show up in missouri and it's a big maypop patch so ideally there's both

always grew it at my house as a kid and it grows uh well, like a weed in other parts of my neighborhood but it hates me 🥲 tried common, butterfly, swamp, spider, and whorled
