Yorkshire born, retired to Hampshire coast. Family, Birding / butterflying, RSPB volunteering and Pompey FC take up most of my time.
The Spotflys are flooding in at the moment as they prepare to migrate. The paddocks at Northney are pretty reliable in late August to find Pied Fly and Spot fly. I found a Pied on Sunday and these two Spots yesterday. Also found a Redstart yesterday.

Delighted to report that I spotted the first Ringed Plover chicks of the year inside our enclosure at Gunner Point on Hayling. As far as we know we have 6 nests. 5 inside the enclosure and 1 outside. Photos are all adult birds. No pics of chicks yet.

As a 'non-togger' with a pretty basic understanding of photography and a standard bridge camera, I'm reasonably pleased with these shots of 2 different SEO's at #rspbbemptoncliffs yesterday evening.

Spent a few hours at #RSPBmedmerry this afts waiting for a Least Sandpiper. Stood me up.
Nevertheless, I got stonking views of a couple of Little Ringed Plovers. Even saw them mating. Can you believe i actually phonescoped this pic. The bird is clearly identifiable as an LRP. I know, incredible.
