Though for those who believe railways are perfect on the continent... Almost every single one of our main line trains in Germany was delayed. The only on-time one was our connection from Cologne to Brussels, which pulled out just as our late connection from Wuppertal arrived! 🤦

It would also cost us £80 (even with railcard discount) compared to just £30 by car (using HMRC's 45p/mile rate).
The extra time and inflexibility of public transport should make it cheaper, not more expensive.
