Not to mention there's a lot of companies that haven't had a cqc inspection in four years. They get new owners and managers so often that the cqc rating means literally nothing. It's the local authorities picking up slack for the cqc, they inspect every sixish months

I used to be one too, then moved into care commissioning. We've had so many problems with companies over using overseas workers and then not having a good enough standard of English to communicate properly with clients. Two companies went bankrupt because we refused to work with them over it!

Good lord, care companies are already charging local authorities £20-30 per hour per carer. Care budgets are going to go through the roof.
