Men's rights absolutely vary by state! The big one that comes to mind is definitions of rape

Lost by about 30 in Arkansas though: and what's wrong about his understanding?

I'll read a little more on how they managed to do that while also believing in magic, but as to your second point: those are technically coherent! (because you can not believe in God, engage in Jewish practices, but believe in a different religion)

Sure: I'm using my definition, which may not align with what they use. Categories in general are not universally agreed upon, so this doesn't bother me much

I'm not that familiar with LaVeyan Satanism, I thought they believed in magic? But yeah I would say those people are culturally Jewish, and people I've met who are like that have referred to themselves as such

Comparing how people are treated by society and the law

Insofar as making something legally-binding creates meaning, sure! But that seems very different from religion. Like weddings can ofc have religious aspects, but actually lawfully binding people is not at all the same.

Sounds like you're accepting that on faith 😉

What religion lacks the supernatural?

Is "rituals creating meaning" the same as "rituals being meaningful"? Because then I agree, a lot of that stuff is just meaningful.
There's definitely real reasons to have birthday parties: it's a convenient and sensible time to celebrate a person getting older

For sure, I've talked to both normies who go to Church every Sunday and that's about it, and people basically in cults

Making stuff up about me might make you feel better, but it's still not true
September 25, 2025 at 6:37 PM
All of my deep conversations with religious people have convinced me this is not true. It's not universal I'm sure, but religious people just tend to think and go about their lives very differently than I (as an atheist) do
September 25, 2025 at 4:29 PM
I mean any unprovable assumptions should be on the level of meta-ethics at least, and to that point there's a big difference between "God is real" and "we ought to act how an ideal observer would act"
September 25, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Like, what sort of non-religious rituals that create meaning are you thinking of?
September 25, 2025 at 4:25 PM
I have never heard religion defined this way, and idk why you would want to define it this way. Ofc we all have rituals and we all have views of the world, but I'm not so sure about that "create meaning" part

Justice is very real, and even if there's no general quantifiable measure of it, we can still make objective statements about it
