Nothing kills my desire to read a book faster than seeing it tagged “clean romance” or “Christian romance” on Goodreads. #booksky #smut

Went to the Stanley to see the Addam’s Family musical. It was great 🖤

Ron Ripley: the illusive king of ghost stories. I started with the Berkley Street series and just finished the Moving in series. All of his stories are interconnected are in the same world. His books move quickly and keep you hooked. They’re not available on KU, but I recommend them #booksky

I love to see my African Violets doing so well and blooming happily #plants #africanviolets #goodvibes

All Souls by Samuel Brower. He’s an indie author and all of his books are available on KU. I’ve read several of them & enjoy them a lot. You all should check him out. This one was the second book in a trilogy about carnival workers who have a secret life-saving operation behind the scenes. (1/2)

I’m going to keep supporting KU. These issues are nuanced. A few or even hundreds of us boycotting Amazon won’t make a dent in Bezos’s pocket, it it will affect small indie authors paying their bills and feeding their families. #booksky

Also finished Heartshaped Box by Joe Hill earlier this week. It’s probably my favorite of his. It was scary, but had a whole lot of heart. (Pun unintended) #booksky #horror

Finished Anathema by Nick Roberts last night. What a great horror story! There’s a lot of talent coming down the indie author pipeline right now. Check out @spookywv.bsky.social, @thisone0verhere.bsky.social, @paperbacksandpugs.bsky.social, and Samuel Brower right away! #booksky #horror #indie

What’s with Freida McFadden’s exhaustingly stupid FMC’s? I’m reading the Boyfriend, which is my second of her books and I think I’m done after this. Sydney makes me want to jump off a cliff #booksky

Yesterday, it had warmed up enough for the ice to slide off the roof with a giant crash that made the house shake, and there was grass poking through the snow. Today, the wind is a freight train, and it’s snowing. March may be like that. #March #inlikealion #bipolarweather #bringonspring

One of my favorite book tropes is the friend group/found family trope. Everyone longs for those friend groups and they’re comforting to read about. #booksky

With all the division in the world right now, the only thing we can all agree on is FUCK Casey Anthony. 🖕 #caseyanthony

“The trouble with Jim was he looked at the word and could not look away, and when you never look away all your life, by the time you’re 13 you have done 20 years taking in the laundry of the world…” (1/2)

Finished the Gabby Petito Netflix documentary. I have a lot of thoughts but… it’s infuriating to me that Brian couldn’t even be honest in his suicide note. The cowardice is unfathomable. #gabbypetito #netflix #NowLetsFindTheRest

I love Stephen King. He’s one of my all time favorite authors. But the man could really benefit from a good editor. Reading Sleeping Beauties and it’s a great book, but there seem to be 752 extraneous characters to keep up with 😆 #booksky #horror #stephenking

“The first step to understanding anything—whether it’s the Bible or Fifty Shades of Grey—is acknowledging that we come to it with agendas of our own. We want it to mean something, we are biased whether we know it or not, and usually what we walk away with is what we want to walk away with.”

Just got done watching the Hulu documentary on Ruby Franke and listening to the audiobook written by her daughter Sheri. Absolutely sickening. And honestly, I have no sympathy for Kevin. I know he was brainwashed and part of a cult, but I just can’t get past his culpability #RubyFranke #lds #mormon

Apparently Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman took acting classes together when they were young and they were both voted least likely to succeed. Gene Hackman’s acting coach told him he’d never amount to anything.

Looking for a good book about anthropomorphic murderous woodland animals? Check out Winterset Hollow by Jonathan Edward Durham. Such a great folk horror! Like Watership down… but with a vengeance plot and bloodlust. #booksky #horror

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.

I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!
