I’m very aware that puppets which use a person’s full body (or multiple people) exist. That’s not what’s being asked. I’m wondering if there is any line drawn by the furry community between what is considered a puppet and what is a fur suit.

Though many puppets are certainly hand operated, there are definitely puppets out there controlled by the user’s face. Was part of a show on Sunday where the hosts puppet used this method of movement. It was amazing.

So that gets me to wondering how the furry community views puppets. Do furries think they’re cool? Do puppets seem strange because they exist solely for performance?

As a non-furry, I would gather that the entertainment/enjoyment of a fur suit is primarily for the wearer and not explicitly for an audience. It’s less a performance and more about expression of the self, right?
