Life has been a bit of a dumpster fire lately, between work and health issues and the bees in my brain and 💫✨everything✨💫 but I did manage to grow a strawberry by completely ignoring my planter boxes, so hey! That’s something. 💙

The airport I fly in and out of to visit my dad often has a gaggle of volunteers with ESA doggos wandering around for passengers to get some emotional support from. They’re not here today, and I could really use some. Oof. Having aging parents is hard.

I had a great weekend in Seattle for ECCC. Playing dress up with my crew and catching up with old friends was lovely. And ‘twas fabulous to see pirate friends, too! I also made it to the K. Haring exhibit at MoPop. ❤️ Spent the rest of my holiday under the best weighted blanket. Now back to work.

I’ve spent the day puttering in my sewing room for the first time since before Xmas, and it felt good. Made progress on both a long procrastinated dress for @portlandblackbeard.bsky.social and a fun shirt for myself. I put them on the dress forms, and they reminded me of something. 🤔🏴☠️

I’m doing a socialize for the first time since before Christmas! I’m trying to remember how to play my character as I’ve missed a few sessions. And because aesthetics are important, I have matched my dice to my yarn project. 💚💙🩵

I booked myself off work all last week with grand plans of cleaning house and doing fun sewing and gaming with friends, but instead I spent the entire time knocked out with a bad head cold. I dozed through a lot of old tv, ate a lot of soup, and crocheted when I was awake enough. Happy new year?!

As usual, a lot of sewing this year. A gazillion bags for the shop, but also a new handbag for me and a project bag for a family friend. Cosplays including Care Bears and Scoobie, and my very favorite S2 Stede. A venture into flower crown making for a summer fae party. Here’s to more in next year.
